Some of you may have seen the lion we had at last year’s tournament, this represented Lions at Large, Gloucestershire’s first ever Wild in Art sculpture trail, will be ‘roaring’ onto the streets of Cheltenham and Gloucester this Summer. Over 30 majestic lion sculptures will be individually painted by local artists: with streets, parks and open spaces dazzling with their vibrant colours and surprising designs.
The children can use the sheet to decorate and inspire us with their designs.
If your children would like to be involved, please return the lion to design via several routes by 7th March.
We will select a winning design or use several designs to create the little lion. As well as your design featuring on the lion, the opportunity to help with the painting at the club there will be a free unique Club training top!
If any older children need a project for their GCSE work or would like to get involved with the actual painting of the lion, please speak to the committee and we’ll get you involved. We need to paint the lion in April so that is ready to go onto the trail.
You can find out more about The Pride of Gloucestershire Trail and look at some of the other designs at https://lionsatlarge.co.uk/
As part of the project, we will be raising funds for Cheltenham and Gloucester Hospitals Charity, who are organising the trail to support new cancer facilities.
